Hello again!

I hope you are enjoying your summer break!

It’s Olivia checking in :D; today, I am bringing to you a small Q&A with common questions! Without further ado…

My favourite dessert?

  • Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory
    • I honestly am not picky with desserts, but I found that cheesecakes are low-risk in my books!

Favourite place to go on vacation?

  • Shanghai, China
    • As you may have already noticed, I am a very food-motivated person. Although food is part of the equation, my parents are actually from Shanghai meaning many of my relatives live in this city. Despite 15 hour flights (and vomit, dizziness and air-sickness episodes), I enjoy reconnecting with my roots and learning more about my family’s culture.

Favourite subject?

  • Science
    • Since my platform revolves around climate change, it is natural that I have a passion for science. Although I merely scratched the surface, I have grasped a greater appreciation for the universe, matter and life.

If you had a genie, what would your 3 wishes be?

  • Eliminate all hateful, violent or targetted crimes
    • This goes without explanation, it is important that each individual is respected to ensure equilibrium in the world. Many hateful crimes trouble my hope for the future and humanity; however, this issue may not truly be resolved as this only exists in a utopian society.
  • Bring fulfillment to every individual’s life (give them a reason to live)
    • I hope that everyone on this Earth has the ability to live with fulfillment, meaning they have interests, dreams and a reason to wake up. Sadly, many do not have this sense resulting in self-degradation, suicide, or self-harm. Purpose and belonging is a crucial factor to human life (after necessities including food, water, shelter etc.), affecting mental and physical health.
  • Reverse climate change effects
    • Most importantly, I would wish that climate change would no longer be an issue and that everyone understands their role in the scheme. Many statistics estimate that by 2050, sea-level rise will obliterate all coastal cities, while trees will experience record-breaking logging rates. Shockingly, microbes from millions of years ago may become exposed due to glacier melt, causing a pandora box-full of diseases much worse than COVID-19. These events are those that are likely going to occur within our lifetimes meaning we have an even greater incentive to reverse effects–to protect our future.

Although my blog took an ominous turn, I hope this inspires you to be more aware of your decisions in the prospective future.

Thank you for your time!
