I’m sure everyone reading this wants to know more about all the beautiful delegates and of course, get to know them all a little better. Leading up to this competition I want to make sure I fulfill that request, In today’s post I want you guys to get to know me a little bit better and how I got here today.

A huge and strong motivation in my new pageant career is my best friend. Without him, I would not be the person I am today. Pageantry was not a go-to plan for me, it came along the way of my forthcoming dance career. When the idea was first brought to me I thought it could’ve been a joke. I lacked a lot of self-confidence and was filled with doubt. Which is not new when it comes to trying something new. I could personally not see myself on stage modeling. I was very insecure about my height, my ability to speak in front of people, and the fear of trying something new on top of it all.

He was a major part of how things took a radical change and before I knew it, I was filling out an MTC 2020 application. Sometimes all you need is one big push and one leap of faith and before I could blink I had a whole bunch of new friends from all over Ontario, a crown on my head, and a new title of Miss Teenage Ontario 2020. He helped me changed my views on my outward appearance, build up my self-esteem, and give me the courage to try something new. No matter who that person is in your life when u get that push… sometimes you just have to open that door, because you never know what’s on the other side.

Fun fact, The night I was crowned Miss Teenage Ontario 2020, he was in the Netherlands airport coming back from a month-long tour in South Africa, apart of the Canadian U19 team for the World cup 2020. It was so crazy having him so far but pushing me to my best and having all that work paid off

He is my motivation. He showed me that I can accomplish anything my heart desires and I put my mind too. It truly is amazing how far you can go when someone believes in you. He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself, then resulted in a whole world of opportunities. I personally always thought it was easier to believe in yourself after someone believes in you, honestly I’ve learned once you learn to love yourself nothing is impossible. The moral of this story is self-doubt can hold you back from a lot, if someone is believing in you, don’t be so quick to shut them down but see why they do. Mainly and most importantly is to love yourself, be yourself, and never give up.

“If you dream, you can do it. If you give up, it means you never wanted it.”

Yours Truly, Krissy
